Festival of Sharing

HEAL co-founder Margaret Ravenscroft and Collective collaborator Awssan Kamal facilitated the Festival of Sharing 2026 — a three-day residential gathering for frontline workers across the migrant justice sector, convened by Justice Together at The Grand, York 15-17 July 2026.

The gathering was shaped as a space to pause, reconnect and re-energise, a space to step out of silos and into relationship.

Working with the Justice Together team, we held the overall facilitation and design of the residential, creating the conditions for peer-to-peer learning, solidarity and collective reflection to emerge.

Our approach was grounded in emergent strategy: trusting that the knowledge needed is already in the room. Across the three days, we also led a series of workshops, exploring some of the key tensions and possibilities within the sector:

• Funding the Sector — opening up the realities of resource, sustainability and power

• Creative Responses to the Hostile Environment — a participatory workshop inviting creative practice as a way to process, resist and reimagine

• What I Am Sharing, What We Are Building — a reflective session exploring the relationship between individual contribution and collective movement

• Lived Experience and Power: Who Shapes the Agenda? — a critical conversation on voice, leadership and decision-making, asking how lived experience is centred, supported and resourced within the sector.
