Refugee Week Theory of Change

We collaborated with the Refugee Week team to revisit and expand their Theory of Change, engaging a wide range of stakeholders through meetings, one-to-ones, an away day, and interactive thinking sessions. The process focused on mapping the Refugee Week ecosystem, exploring how different parts of the community connect and influence each other, and identifying opportunities to understand and articulate impact.

Drawing on Emergent Strategy principles, we treated the Theory of Change as a living framework, one that evolves alongside the organisation rather than prescribing a fixed path. Our approach combined strategic insight with creative experimentation, translating ideas into text, visuals, and animated outputs that make the framework accessible and inspiring for everyone involved.

For this project, we assembled a dedicated team including photographer and graphic producer Reem Takriti, whose expertise in visual storytelling complements HEAL’s consultancy work. Together, we aimed to produce a Theory of Change that is practical, reflective and energising. It is a tool that supports the continued empowerment of the Refugee Week community.
